About Disabled Veterans Foundation
Mission One
This Foundation works to: house, feed, clothe and return veterans to a productive life for those that have fallen on hard times with TRANSITIONAL HOUSING. We help veterans find work and help them with transportation and personal issues, basically anything that is within our ability to help them get their lives going again.
Mission Two
Is our MILITARY FAMILY EMERGENCY SERVICES. We personally take care of every VA Hospital and Clinic in the ENTIRE STATE OF FLORIDA. We assist with the electric bills, bus tickets, food, rent, water bills etc...
with OFFICIAL VA social services request verifying the need...
you name it we probably help with it!
One of our requirements for ANY Veteran is that they must be at least an honorable discharge. You honor us with your hard earned services amd we will help you in return for keeping our country safe.
Our program is so well accepted by the VA (Veterans Administration) that they recommend us to any veteran in need. For our transitional housing we have over 72 beds located in serveral parts of Ft. Lauderdale and the Hollywood FL area. Our Veterans are referred to us by all sources from the VA Hospitals, VA Clinics and VA Outpatient Centers in the state. We also receive requests from the Workforce One Veteran Outreach, American Legion & many Sheriffs and Police Departments. We work hand in hand to help Veterans and their families have hope.THERE IS HOPE
We do all this with 100% Honorable Discharged Veterans helping other honorable Veterans!
You will NEVER see any non-veterans in uniform or partial uniform representing the honorable Discharged Veterans Foundation

Individual Assistance for Veterans
The Disable Veterans Foundation offers individual emergency assistance to Veterans on a case-by-case basic to prevent homelessness. These can used to pay for:
- Rent/mortgage
- Essential utilities: electric, heating, water and waste bills and more.
To apply for individual emergency assistance, you must submit:
- Financial assistance request form
- A cover letter [written by a local Veteran Service Organization (VSO) or VA case worker] that includes the amount of the request, rationale that details the importance of the need and plans to continue service after the assistance is provided.
- A copy of the bill(s) to be paid by the foundation
- Signed consent form
Veterans are encouraged to seek the help of a caseworker from the VA or any local Veteran Service Organization (VSO). This helps DVF, as we are not close to your situaution. In addition, including a short letter from your caseworker will decrease processing time for your assistance.
Please read all the instructions before requesting help.
While we strive to proccess individual emergency needs as quickly as possible, it may take up to 30 days to process requests once all the necessary documentation is recieved if the request was approved.
For additional information or questions regarding DVF grants, contact our office @ (954) 678-4705 or nicolette@disabledveteransfoundation.org.
The DVF Homeless program is designed to get veterans back on their feet and get on with life how they are meant to be.
